We hear you!  Prices for everything are higher than ever, and from the gas station, to back to school sneakers, and insurance premiums, sticker shock is all around.  Many families are having to cut corners and find it hard to keep healthcare in the monthly budget.  Read on for more information from our health department about how Virginia is trying to help bridge the gap including a new program to help cover the cost of premiums for eligible families.

Are you worried about how to pay for your family’s healthcare?  If you do not have health insurance through your job, Medicaid, or Medicare, check out Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace. All Marketplace plans cover ten essential health benefits, including pediatric care, mental health, emergency visits, and more. The Marketplace is the only place Virginians can access financial assistance available through The Affordable Care Act and the new Virginia Premium Savings program. Open enrollment begins Nov. 1 and runs through Jan. 29, 2027.  You can compare plans and pick one that works best for your budget.  Enroll by Dec. 31 for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2027.  Confused about how it all works?  Use the “Find Help” tool on the Marketplace website to connect with a local expert.
