Along with many of you, we continue to closely monitor the approval process for COVID vaccines for children 6 months – 4 years old.  As we have done for our 5-11 yo patients and our 12 and older patients, we will plan to start giving the vaccine once it has received approval by the FDA and has been recommended by the CDC vaccine group.  During this period with we will also review the data for both the Pfizer 3 dose series and the Moderna 2 dose series and share our assessment.  The FDA meeting is set for June 15, and the CDC meeting will take place on June 17-18.

If you know you are interested in your child under 5 receiving a COVID vaccine, we ask that you please visit the patient portal using the link below to send us a message informing us.  I find logging in with my child’s name and using the mobile phone code is easiest.  This will give us a better idea of the number of patients interested as we continue to plan in anticipation of vaccine approval.  We will call patients once we are ready to schedule.

As a reminder, families with children 5 and older can also use the portal to request an appointment for a primary COVID series or booster shot now that they are approved for all children ages 5 and up.
