Catch up Hib vaccines - December 2009

Posted on December 02, 2009

Recently we experienced a national shortage of the Hib vaccine, an immunization that prevents a type of bacterial infection. Most kids receive the final dose after turning 1 year old. Most of our patients that are currently 2 to 4 years old did not receive that final dose as a result of the shortage. Now that the shortage has ended, please ask about the catch up Hib vaccine at your next check up. If you are concerned and would like to have your child receive it sooner, please call your primary office and check with the phone nurse about your child's immunization record.
